I am currently in the process of editing thousands of photos from the Canadian Rockies, so my transitioning my blog from one server to the other will be on pause for a while. While I'm slaving away in front of the computer, I did want to share one shot from my recent trip to Alberta's Kananaskis Country that marked a very special day for me. This is the view of Spray Lakes from the air, and one I won't soon be forgetting.
I was the only person in our group who had never been in a heli before, and though I was a bit worried about motion sickness, as soon as we took off I didn't even have time to think about it. I was blown away by the mountains and aqua lakes below me, and I could have stayed in the chopper for hours. I've been in small planes before, but seeing the earth's landscape from this point of view (and an open window!) was a truly life changing experience. Thank you, Alpine Helicopters -- it's going to be pretty impossible to top this ride!
